What is the difference between a sealant and carnauba wax?
A sealant offers a significant amount of protection usually 4 to 6 months with a high quality product. Carnauba wax offers a better look with greater clarity and depth to the paint’s finish. Carnauba wax on most occasions will only protect 1 to 3 months. Protection varies depending on how much the vehicle is driven, whether its garaged, and how it is washed.
What is clay bar?
A clay bar is a putty substance that we use to remove such things as light overspray, industrial fallout, brake dust, tar , tree sap, etc.. This process is used on every vehicle at Myers Detailing before polish, wax or paint sealant is applied which will give the paint finish the best possible results.
What is an engine compartment detail?
Includes cleaning and degreasing of the engine compartment. Also apply protective dressings, polish, or wax painted surfaces under hood.
What is leather conditioning?
This is the process of applying high quality and safe leather conditioner to previously cleaned leather seats. This is to protect and beautify the leather.
What is air purging?
This is when we use air to blow out the interior in all cracks, crevices, vents, under seats etc . This will remove dirt and debris to be vacuumed up before shampooing.
What is hot water extraction?
A hot water extractor heats up the water and is used to shampoo and remove the soapy water and cleaners from your carpets and cloth seats. This gives much better results than hand shampooing.
How long does it take to detail a vehicle?
This will vary in length. First it depends if we pick up or deliver your vehicle, second depends upon size of vehicle, third cleanliness of vehicle, and finally which package is chosen. Can be anywhere between 2 to 8 hours or more. Each package has an approximate time that it takes to perform.
How often should I have my vehicle waxed, polished or paint sealed?
Well this will depend on a few things. Depends on how often you wash your vehicle, how often you go to automatic car washes, weather its garage kept or sets in the sun all day. Most waxes today on average last as little as 2 to 3 months and paint sealants 4 to 6 months depending on care of vehicle. I personally wax or paint seal my vehicles in the fall before they start with the salt and brine on the roads, and in the spring to protect for the summer sun.
What is fabric protector?
Fabric protector is usually applied when the carpets and cloth seats are relatively clean to repel and protect material from being to damaged from dirt and spills.
